I was walking around Canadian Tire with my niece the other day. We were on the hunt for just a small pool, and we were running around the store, having some fun, you know. So we turn around a corner and I see this guy walking down the aisle with a giant lizard riding on his shoulder. It was NOT SMALL. I went up to him and asked if it was actually real, and he said yes. And then he came closer and he says, "His name is Spike, and he's really friendly. You want to pet him?" He bends down and lets my niece pet his friendly lizard, and then I got to pet the lizard. It was quite awesome.
After that we went to the movie theatre to get some tickets to see Monsters University. I was charged as a child (the woman didn't ask me for my age). After that we went to Walmart. I was waiting for my sister to finish her shopping, so I took my niece near the checkout area, sat down, and started to play some tunes on my ukulele. A few minutes later, this old woman comes around and says to my niece, "Is your mommy playing nice music for you?" I look at her and she just smiles and walks away. And then we went to Superstore, and the cashier says, "Would your daughter like some stickers?"
My niece and I don't even LOOK alike!
So... I can pass as a child in the movies, and a mother at shopping centres (so long as I have my niece with me). I'm not complaining about the theatres though, that's for sure
